GUNSMITH JOB OPPORTUNITY
T W Chambers & Co are market leaders in the supply of spare parts for air weapons,
shotguns and rifles. We also undertake manufacture of reproduction rare historic
firearms along with restoration and manufacture of parts for weapons ranging from air
rifles to artillery. TW Chambers is a trading name of Shandwick Supply Co Ltd.
We are located in Evanton Industrial Estate on the shores of the scenic Cromarty Firth
just 20 miles north of the City of Inverness. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty
that is well served by road, rail and air. This opportunity has been created by the retirement of our current gunmaker after 20
years in the post.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to take on
gunsmithing duties as part of our team. The successful applicant will be proactive,
experienced and skilled, looking for a new challenge, and working on a diverse range of
arms. They are expected to have good communication skills to deal with client enquiries
and demonstrate competence in bench skills.
We invite applications from suitably experienced persons, key aspects are.
1. Experienced in manufacture and or repair of firearms.
2. Demonstrable hand skills for finishing of wood & metal parts.
3. Good general knowledge of firearms.
4. Computer literate and at ease working with computer-based systems.
5. Good interpersonal skills.
6. Passion for quality work.
7. Team player.
8. A good knowledge of air weapons would be an advantage.
9. Candidate must relocate or live within commuting distance of Evanton (Unit 12b, Evanton Ind Est, Dingwall, IV16 9XJ).
Salary range- £35,000 to £45,000 per annum basic plus twice yearly bonus.
Working week- 5 days 40 hours per week. (early close Friday 2pm)
